History

The Healey Werks was founded by Craig Hillinger in the winter of 1987. In a small two-car garage in the Chicago area, Craig quickly captured the attention of the European vintage elite. With increasing demand for Craig’s craft, the company promptly outgrew its initial location. Operations were then moved to a 1500 sq. ft. building in Elk Grove, IL, where it remained for the next 12 months and began collecting recognition from a now global clientele.

Client base continued to rise steadily, and this location also became inadequate. Doubling in size, The Healey Werks moved across the street into a 3900 sq. ft. space in Elk Grove, IL. Four years later operations were moved to a temporary facility near Waukegan, IL, in preparation of a transformation that would change the entire capabilities and services of the company.

In 1997 Craig and wife Shari moved The Healey Werks to its permanent location on Highway 20 near Sioux City, IA. With a campus of nearly 70,000 sq. ft. under roof, Craig and Shari have transformed the company and its offerings into a corporation unmatched in its industry. While maintaining uncompromising craftsmanship, the expansions of the past decade have enabled The Healey Werks to incorporate new technologies with old-world techniques. Capabilities such as 3D CAD/CAM modeling, prototyping, custom fabrication, and custom CNC milling have uniquely positioned the company to be self sufficient while offering a broader range of services to its clients.

Today The Healey Werks serves its clients with over 100 years of combined experience on staff. This experience coupled with raw talent and passion enables Craig and Shari to meet the specific needs of their clients and raise the bar for the industry.
